How Professional Reflection can
lead to greater confidence in
career and life
The importance of Professional Experience
This is not the conventional workplace reflection which is often a Trojan horse filled with stressful expectations of increased productivity.
This is a different perspective which goes beyond the simplistic notion that increased effort, efficiencies and trying harder will answer all workplace “problems”. Motivation based on “will effort” alone will lead to exhaustion.
This course gives a reflection process which respects the intelligence and experience of the professional.
“Whenever will effort is required there is unrecognised cross motivation, and this is an extremely wasteful method of obtaining results. The mature person clears up all the irrelevant motivations and uses interest, necessity and skill, unhindered by unrecognized emotional urges.”
(M. Feldenkrais)
Professional Reflection for Community Workers
addressing the issues of:
•A congruence of personal values insight and work experience.
•An understanding of the parallel journeys with clients.
•Insight and commitment to what really matters in work practice.
•Ways to be on top of the frustrations and obstacles in work.
•An understanding of the cognitive sabotage of negative self consciousness.
•Ways to care for one’s inner life.
•Ways to get more energy, learning and satisfaction from work
•Ways to avoid the loss of passion, the burn-out of heavy case loads and the bleak world views of clients.
